How COVID-19 impacted the organization's operations financially:

Donations from live events being cancelled significantly declined due to Covid-19 lockdowns. Typically, donations from live events represents 50% of our fundraising efforts. Fallen Patriots was able to obtain SBA PPP loans to continue employment of our team which is comprised of 50% of survivors and recipients of our Program.


How COVID-19 impacted the organization's delivery of programs:

As a result of the decline in live event donations, we had to scale back the number of new recipients we were able to provide educational scholarships to by 50%.


How this organization adapted to changing conditions caused by COVID-19:

Fallen Patriots shifted from a live event fundraising model to a digital fundraising model and ran multiple national virtual campaigns.


Innovations the organization intends to continue permanently after the pandemic:

The technology behind virtual campaigns enable us to engage donors that previously weren't associated with our organization and we will continue to utilize this technology to grow our fundraising.

Story of Adaptability

The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.


Covid directly impacted our ability to hold live fundraising events which typically represent 50% of our donations. As a result, we rapidly implemented new technology to be able to hold national virtual fundraising campaigns to help offset the impact of Covid. This technology was very effective in engaging new and existing donors.
